Law Enforcement

The Law Enforcement Division is responsible for public safety and law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Caldwell County. The primary focus of these units involves patrol function in those areas, but there are many specialized units that are also a part of their jobs.

The County consists of 544 square miles and is divided into two districts, North and South. The district dividing line is Hwy 20, which travels east and west through the middle of the county. The South Substation is located at the Prairie Lea ISD. There are six incorporated communities and twelve unincorporated communities in Caldwell County.

The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for investigating criminal activity. Detectives conduct follow-up investigations, gathering evidence, identifying suspects, making arrests, and preparing cases for prosecution.

A Warrant Officer is assigned to locate and arrest wanted suspects. The Civil Process Officer serves court subpoenas to trial witnesses.
